Two peacock chairs and a custom stained glass fireplace screen.
Description
Two Hans Wegner Peacock Chairs in front of the fireplace at the Emily Fowler Library. The wood is Ash and Teak and the seat Danish paper cord. 30"w x 29"d x 42"h. The chairs were given to the library by the Denton Optimist Club in 1981, in memory of Luke Nelson.
The stained glass screen in front of the fireplace was created by Christie A. Wood with Art Glass Ensembles to match the map over the fireplace. In the center is an etching of the Courthouse-on-the-Square. The clear glass holds images of historic Denton County cattle brands. The screen was commissioned by Eva Poole, the library director at the time. 34"h x 42"w x 38" total h, the circle is 22"
