Title

Glazed hanging pendant lamp

Description

Terracotta pendant lamp with a reddish glaze and bands with various patterns such as fluted lines, seamless ovals, and an atomic starburst. The holes were hand-pierced using a dowel. Measures 24 3/4" x 10 1/2".

It was fashioned by the Beaumont Mood Lighting Co. in San Antonio, Texas, for the Municipal Complex around 1968.

This lamp was one of three that hung in front of the windows at the east end of the Emily Fowler Library. We presume that the other two were broken and replaced by four others that were made by the same company.
