It was designed by the Mount-Miller Architects in 1965. The structure is bordered by North Elm Street and Congress Street. From the Denton Record-Chronicle: The building was designed for Bruce Davis and built by Bert Moore Construction Co. The northern part was configured especially for Joe Alford, owner of Joe Alford Florist. Natural lighting supplied the work areas to aid in flower arrangements. Abilene Cordovan brick with concrete masonry backup was used in the construction. Acoustical ceiling tiles were used. There is a brick alcove at the southeast corner of the building that was used as a structural device. An angled roof and ceiling created a spacious feel. The person who sculpted this lamp remains unknown, but other light fixtures in this style hang in a few homes around Denton and elsewhere. Red clay planter with bands of dark matte brown and glazed blue and brown. The planter measures 18 1/4" x 12" x 3/4" . There are three large drain holes that are 1/2" in diameter. This planter was made by Beaumont Mood at the request of architect O'Neil Ford. We do not know if it was originally in City Hall or the Emily Fowler Library which would make its creation date anywhere from 1965 to 1968.
