The northern part was configured especially for Joe Alford, owner of Joe Alford Florist. Natural lighting supplied the work areas to aid in flower arrangements. Abilene Cordovan brick with concrete masonry backup was used in the construction. Acoustical ceiling tiles were used. There is a brick alcove at the southeast corner of the building that was used as a structural device. An angled roof and ceiling created a spacious feel.
