Architect O'Neil Ford of San Antonio presented a model of the proposed Community Building to be built in Denton's Civic Center to city councilmen following their regular meeting Tuesday. The multi-purpose building's final plans will be ready for the letting of bids in February or March, City Manager Jack Reynolds said. He said the proposed structure should cost "in the neighborhood of $400,000."

View of two of the hanging cylinder lamps from the Municipal Pool Building. They both had significant breakage along the top of the fixtures. The breakage was repaired at an unknown time period, using an unknown glue that did not match the original colors.
Two cylinder lamps made by Beaumont Mood for the Denton Municipal Swimming Pool. They were removed and placed in storage after the building was renovated in the 1990s. This picture was taken before they were cleaned in 2022-2023.

This wall sconce is on the outermost edge of the west side of the building and faces the park. There is a large crack along the upper-right-hand corner. The blue bands appear to have black scuff marks or dirt on them. The glaze on the middle area and two bands surrounding has faded or worn off extensively.
Ceramic light fixtures along the exterior wall of the Denton Civic Center are made from red clay. As they have weathered, they have turned a pinkish-hue. Over the years, some have been broken due to hail or vandalism.

This ceramic light fixture shell was fabricated by Beaumont Mood of San Antonio, Texas. It was commissioned by O'Neil Ford in 1968 for the Emily Fowler Central Library. It is 16" x 16" with geometric patterns and blue, brown, and white glaze. It has some chips and an 8" hairline crack.<br />
