Museum replica of the Rosetta Stone. It was once made available for customers to check out. It is 34" x 30" x 1" 1/2 and currently hangs on the east wall in the Special Collections Department. The condition is fair, with material missing, along the edges and paint that has rubbed off on the bottom fourth of the object.

This photo was taken from the front entrance, looking north towards the parking lot. There is a covered breezeway with several flush-mount pottery lamps made by the Beaumont Mood Lighting Co.
Ten flush-mounted terracotta light fixtures line the underside of the covered breezeway in front of the Emily Fowler Library.

The fixtures were made by Ceramic Design out of San Antonio for the library's 1981 expansion.

Two pergolas run along the south-facing side of the Emily Fowler Library. They were added for the 1968 renovation of the library and designed by O'Neil Ford.

Two Hans Wegner Peacock Chairs in front of the fireplace at the Emily Fowler Library. The wood is Ash and Teak and the seat Danish paper cord. 30"w x 29"d x 42"h. The chairs were given to the library by the Denton Optimist Club in 1981, in memory of Luke Nelson.<br />
<br />
The stained glass screen in front of the fireplace was created by Christie A. Wood with Art Glass Ensembles to match the map over the fireplace. In the center is an etching of the Courthouse-on-the-Square. The clear glass holds images of historic Denton County cattle brands. The screen was commissioned by Eva Poole, the library director at the time.
