Newspaper clipping from the Denton Record-Chronicle from May 20, 1976. There is a photo taken by DRC photographer Larry Barr of Adrian Conway mowing a field at North Lakes Park. The caption says, "While most of the residents of the county involve themselves in more urban pursuits, a dedicated group of citizens works full-time preserving the quality of the county's open spaces. Among the conservation projects in the country currently under way is the Northlakes project in northwest Denton.

The entrance to the courtyard was through the door in the back of the teen area. Adults and young children were not permitted.<br /> <br /> In the photo, three young ballerinas are posing in the courtyard.
The courtyard was designed by O'Neil Ford to match other key elements of the library such as brick courtyard, the concrete lattice, and the wooden pergola.
