Newspaper clipping from the Denton Record-Chronicle from May 20, 1976. There is a photo taken by DRC photographer Larry Barr of Adrian Conway mowing a field at North Lakes Park. The caption says, "While most of the residents of the county involve themselves in more urban pursuits, a dedicated group of citizens works full-time preserving the quality of the county's open spaces. Among the conservation projects in the country currently under way is the Northlakes project in northwest Denton.

This photo was taken after two days of rain at North Lakes Park. What you are seeing is a view of the reservoir on the west side by Bonnie Brae, however, the water levels had overridden the park and come within 100 feet from the road. It also covered the iron bridge, the u-shaped road, and the smaller pedestrian bridge.<br />
