The City of Denton Parks and Recreation Department built the foundation and the sand enclosure for the memorial. Saltillo tiles run through the interior hallways of Denton City Hall. They were part of O'Neil Ford's design.

This is a picture taken of a partially decorated Christmas tree at the Denton City Hall in 1969. A ladder is to the right of the tree. The tree stands in a long hall filled with floor-to-ceiling windows. The floor is covered in glossy, smooth, saltillo tile. Beaumont Mood pendant lamps in a similar color hang from the ceiling.

This is a photograph of the exterior of the Denton Civic Center. The building is brick. This photo is of the west side of the building. Several exit doors empty out onto a covered patio with a metal roof. The patio is used for vendors during an event, or for children to play on during summer camp.
